NICK N. ABEDI, MD, FACS, RPVI

Dr. Abedi is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery and is registered in vascular ultrasound interpretation. After graduating from West Virginia University School of Medicine, he completed his general surgery residency and vascular fellowship at the University of Kentucky College Of Medicine. Dr. Abedi started his post graduate career at Saint Joseph Hospital in 2009. His great work ethic and outstanding patient care earned him an appointed position as the chair of Surgery and medical regional manager of the hospital employee group. After a decade building the vascular program at St. Joseph Hospital, he is now in private practice with ability to take care of patients in Fayette Surgical Associates’ state of the art office based outpatient interventional suite as well as Baptist Health Lexington and CHI St. Joseph Hospital.

Dr. Abedi specializes in endovascular repair of aneurysms, peripheral arterial occlusive disease both advanced critical limb and less limb threatening disease such as claudication. With the regions most comprehensive vein center, patients come from throughout the state for evaluation and surgical care within our state of the art facility.  He is proficient in carotid surgery, carotid stenting, TCAR, fast-track recovery aortic aneurysm repair under local regional anesthesia, dialysis access, as well as thrombolysis therapy for deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
